1. Check System RequirementsPlease make sure that the server you will be installing Virtuozzo on meets the following requirements:
Hardware Compatibility:
The hardware requirements for installing Virtuozzo are the following:
- x86 or x86-64 server that is supported by the host Linux OS. The majority of the servers supported by the mainstream Linux kernel or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 kernel are supported. Note that the hardware which requires proprietary pre-compiled binary drivers (e.g. some low-end RAID controllers) is generally NOT supported;
- At least 1 GB of RAM;
- Hard drive(s) with at least 15 GB of free disk space;
- Network card supported by the host Linux OS.
Software Compatibility :
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.7 can be installed on the Hardware Node running one of the following Linux distributions with the 2.6 kernel:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- CentOS 6
2. Download Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Linux
Download the Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Linux install matching your Linux architecture:

3. Install Parallels Virtuozzo Containers
To install Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.7 for Linux, follow these instructions:
Download the vzinstall-linux.bin file to a computer where you plan to install Parallels Virtuozzo Containers.
At the terminal, type:?
#su
Enter the root password.
Change to the directory where the file was downloaded. Type:?
cd
Change the permission of the file you downloaded to be executable. Type:?
chmoda+x vzinstall-linux-x86_64.bin?
or
chmoda+x vzinstall-linux-i386.bin?
depending on your hardware architecture.
Start the installation process. Type:?
./vzinstall-linux-x86_64.bin?
or
./vzinstall-linux-i386.bin
depending on your hardware architecture.
