Another MySQL daemon already running with the same unix socket

Our MySQL server has stop so I just trying to start it but it’s given error “Another MySQL daemon already running with the same unix socket”. I have killed all the process using killall mysqld command but I am not able to start the mysql. If you are getting error “Another MySQL daemon already running with the same unix socket.” Please check the below solutions.

Error :
[root@ghansham ~]# service mysqld restart
Stopping mysqld:                                           [  OK  ]
Another MySQL daemon already running with the same unix socket.
Starting mysqld:                                           [FAILED]

Solutions :
[root@ghansham ~]# mv /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock.bak
[root@ghansham ~]# service mysqld start
Starting mysqld:                                           [  OK  ]

if you are getting this error every reboot it mean, If you run command “reboot” then your services won’t get a chance to close properly.  I would run (if you don’t already)

shutdown -r -t sec 30

that way all of your services get a chance to finish what they’re doing and restart properly.
